Mr Hornblow arrived here 2 years ago.

He has been a principal for over 20 years - he got his first Principals job when he was 12 then he said. Haha
He has had had time helping schools and Principals through the College of Education, he has produced resources to help Boards and Principals refocus schools. He has run conferences and spoken at conferences in NZ and in Australia. But we don't really care about that cos whats really important is that he is good at tag, and he tries to get into the huts in the hedge, he is fun in the classroom and if we are lucky we can go and have a Hot Chocolate with him at the Brick Mill Cafe.
Mr Hornblow says he is a golfaholic - whatever that is. He hits the ball a long way when he takes us to the Pegasus Golf Driving range. He is president of the Amberley Golf Club too cos he must have alot of spare time.
Well thats about all for our Principal - call in and have a chat with him cos he loves talking and talking with people.

Lets us tell you a bit about our teachers and crew here....

Mr Hornblow....

Whaea Sandra (Newies in Room 1)

Our teacher in Room 1 is Whaea Sandra.  We think she is a good teacher.   She
is awesome.  She is nice to all the kids in our class.  She loves to give us hard things to do.  We love challenges in Room 1.  She teaches us all kinds of things like topic work and how to have good manners.
We do lots of phonics work. Some of us are nearly finished our alphabet because she challenges us to learn more.  Whaea teaches us how to read stories.  She makes us learn lots and lots of reading.

Whaea has been teaching for a long time, but not as long as Mr Hornblow.

We like it when good kids come to visit our room. Whaea gets a bit grumpy if they are sent to our room for making silly choices.

Whaea lets us read with the big kids. We love it!  She lets us play on the computers.  Whaea is kind to our mums and dads and to other kids in the school. She likes being nice to us.  She lets us have play time during the day.

We think she is cool. Come and visit our class and meet our groovy teacher and gorgeous kids.

Whaea Jemma (Year 1 and 2 children in Room 2)

Whaea Jemma loves being in Room 2.  She thinks she is very lucky to be  teaching and learning with such cool kids at such a cool school.  This is what we think of her - these are the words of us, the children (Whaea Jemma didn't tell us to say these things!!).

Whaea Jemma is nice and friendly... and awesome.  She is not grumpy and she is good at teaching us.  Whaea Jemma is the awesomist teacher and she is cool.  She is a good friend and kind.  I love her.  Whaea Jemma makes us do hard work, hard topic and hard maths.  She makes us do too much work all the time! She makes us use our brains too much.  We do exercise to wake up our brains.  She is good at teaching us about Indians.  Whaea Jemma plays fun games with us.

The beautiful children of Room 2 and Whaea Jemma warmly welcome you to come and spend time in our fantastic classroom.

Miss Lowry (Year 5 and 6 children in Room 4)

Room 4 is a great place to be! All the children are nice in Room 4.
Our teacher is Miss Lowry. She is nice, friendly and kind to us, but
she does get grumpy if she needs to! We learn in a fun way.

We do hard work because it helps us learn. We like the learning we do,
like Green Box Reading: we are always trying to move up a level!
We also like the maths quizzes. We always get help if we need it.
It’s not all hard work though, we do get to play games.

Please, please, come into our class. We always have adventures and
kids walk out in a better mood than when they walked in.

Mrs Hornblow (Year 7 and 8 children in Room 6)
These comments were written by the awesome students who belong to Room 6.

I LIKE BEING IN ROOM 6 CAUSE MRS HORNBLOW ALWAYS HELPS ME IF I’M STUCK.

WE ALWAYS HAVE A CHOICE SO WE CAN FOLLOW WHAT WE ARE INTERESTED IN.

WE HAVE AN AWESOME CREATIVE CLASS.

WE LEARN ABOUT THE VIKINGS. LEARNING MORE AND MORE EACH DAY.

WE KNOW THERE IS ALWAYS A SHOULDER TO CRY ON (IF WE NEED TO)

WE ARE ALLOWED TO STAY IN AT LUNCH TO DO WORK OR TO FILM SHOTS IN THE MINI
BASKETBALL HOOP.

YOU DON’T JUST WANT TO COME TO SCHOOL TO SEE YOUR FRIENDS, YOU WANT TO COME TO LEARN.

SOME OF US BOYS ARE HOOKED ON ROBERT MUCHAMORE.

WE MAKE LOADS OF FRIENDS.

MRS HORNBLOW IS A VERY NICE TEACHER, KIND AND GENEROUS.

I’VE LEARNT HEAPS OF THINGS AND IT IS FUN WORKING IN CLASS.
